Drummer and leader of Nawlins Funk Band, David Clive

Dave is a veteran of the New York music scene for over twenty-five years. He has performed and/or recorded with the following artists: Iguazu, The Impalas, Paquito D’Rivera, Slide Hampton, The Jambalaya Brass Band, Soul Rebels Brass Band, Demolition Brass Band, Street Beat Brass Band, Linda Ipanema & The Dixie Cats, Hawaiian Express, Neil Diamond, Sound of Infinity, The Robert Charles Blues Band, The Blues Club and The Wolf Pack, to name a few. David attended Berklee College of Music and earned a Masters in Music at The Manhattan School of Music. David is currently on the Music Faculty at Wagner College and C.S.I. on Staten Island, NY. His experience as a drummer and leader brings passion, taste and life to the music of The Nawlins Funk Band.

Singer, Guitarist, & Pianist John Putnam

John has been performing blues for over 40 years, fronting his own trios and quartets as singer/guitarist since 1989. Having moved to New York from Boston, Mr. Putnam is proud to be performing with a variety of acts from the area including his own Blues Party as well as The Real Stomin’ Norman, The Nawlins Funk Band, Radio Flyer and others. John is also pleased to have performed with many local bands including Sly Geralds, Pamela Betti and the Bluebloods, “Diamond” Joe Siddons, Black Cat Bone. During his career, Mr. Putnam has been a studio arranger and guitarist, teacher, lounge pianist, and soundtrack composer for TV (WBZ Boston, WGBH Boston) and radio (WERS, WGBH) as well independant films. Recently two of John’s commissioned pieces have been played at the last multiple graduations for Harvard and MIT. But the constant throughout his career has been playing the blues … John has opened for such luminaries as Roy Buchanan, Bonnie Raitt, George Benson, John Lee Hooker, Duke Robilliard, John Mayall, Johnny Copeland, James Montgomery, James Cotton, Eddy Clearwater.

Bassist and Singer Joe DeMott

Joe DeMott started playing bass in his early teens and at 16 years old was already playing professional gigs with local rock, blues and country rock bands. While working the local club scene, he pursued formal musical training and graduated from Queens College with a BA in Music. Since then, with decades of performance experience, he has played over a thousand shows from concert halls to local music venues. Joe met Dave Clive when they played together with oldies recording artists, The Impalas and joined Dave Clive’s Nawlins Funk Band in 2019. Joe plays bass, guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals. His favorite music is roots-based styles including jazz, blues, funk. R&B and country. Joe DeMott’s funky bass playing and soulful vocals is a driving force in creating Dave Clive’s Nawlins Funk Band unique sound.

Vocalist Lindsay Pinzino

Lindsay joined the Nawlins Funk Band in the Fall of 2004. Lindsay graduated from Loyola University, New Orleans with a B.A. in Vocal performance. During her six years stay in New Orleans, she sang at many popular Jazz & Blues Clubs as well singing lead vocals in a house band for one of the Crescent City’s favorite music venues off of Bourbon street. Lindsay moved back to New York in 2000. She joined up with several well established local bands, performing in many of NY’s popular music venues. In late 2001, she became lead vocalist for a popular NY cover/wedding band “Out of the Blue” with whom she still performs with on a regular basis.

Saxophonist Tim Veeder

Tim moved to New York City in 2007 from Albany after earning his Master’s degree in music education. Among his many accomplishments, his playing has been featured on national TV broadcasts of Mike & the Mad Dog sports program and the Mike Huckabee Show. Tim has shared the stage with trumpeter Cindy Bradley, Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow), and Marc Ford (Black Crowes). Tim continues to play all over the United States in numerous festivals including the Highlights In Jazz Concert in NYC and recorded with the Alan Payette Band, John Savage, The Burners UK. He is featured on Cindy Bradley’s 2011 release “Unscripted”, including the first single off of that album, “Massive Transit”, which was #1 on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Chart for 4 weeks during September of 2011.

Keyboardist, Vocalist & Harmonica player Greg Berger

Greg Berger is a graduate of world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. He is Be Sharp Music & Entertainments owner, musical director, engineer, & chief music Instructor. He is a highly acclaimed professional musician currently working with some of the top bands & orchestrasin New York City as well as the tri-state area. Greg has performed with Kevin Eubanks , Joan Osborne, Allen Stone, Dean Brown & Jose Feliciano.

Saxophonist Tom Pascal

Tom started his career as a drummer vocalist in local NY groups. He then made a major switch to alto and soprano saxophone, as well as tenor and flute. Tom is a versatile instrumentalist who has appeared at many venues such as the Meadowlands, Westbury Music Fair and the Garden State Arts Center with jazz, R&B, and Pop artists such as Roy Ayers, Barbara Harris and the Capris. Tom adds his talents to the Nawlins Funk Band on tenor sax, vocals and percussion.

Singer Guitarist Bob Petrocelli

Bob Petrocelli has many years of experience in a wide variety of musical styles. Bob has performed with acts ranging from doo wop to free jazz over the last 4 decades. In addition to the Nawlins Funk Band, Bob was guitarist for Fountainbleu recording artist Robert Charels and works as a freelance guitarist, bass player and keyboard player, performing regularly with a number of groups. Bob was a Music Major at Hofstra University, and was part of the Village rock scene of the mid ‘60s. During the 70’s and 80’s, he worked as a sideman for a wide variety of local and touring acts as well as groups performing original material and composed and recorded music for radio and other commercial spots. Since the early 90s, Bob has been involved with a number of roots and R&B oriented groups.

Pianist Frank Antico R.I.P.

Frank joined the Nawlins Funk Band in the June of 2003. Sadly we lost Frank suddenly in 2013. Frank was an extrordinary talent and had shared the stage with Jaco Pastorius, TM Stevens, Victor Bailey and Fernando Saunders to name but a few.

Bassist Albert Casado R.I.P.

Albert played in a variety of Blues, R & B, Funk, Rock, Folk and Country Bands. Albert added his great vocal talent to the band. Mr. Casado laid down a solid groove on the Bass.
